Shane Sparks Charged With Molestation

Shane Sparks, a judge on America’s Best Dance Crew and a guest choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance?, was arrested early this morning for allegedly committing acts of kid touching. The District Attorney’s office in Los Angeles filed 9 counts of child molestation charges against Shane. Officials with the Los Angeles Police Department say they arrested Melvin Shane Sparks in North Hollywood around 8 a.M. Friday on a felony warrant charging him with molestation. The alleged molestation took place in 1994, according to a criminal complaint.

Sparks is said to have been at least 10 years older than the victim. Oral copulation is among the many lewd acts Sparks is accused of. He is being held on 0,000 bail.

Jane Robison, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, reports that a criminal complaint was filed by Sparks’ alleged victim. “There’s one victim. It occurred in the ’90s. I believe it started in ’94 and went on for several years,” Robison said. “She was an underage girl. She was under 15 while the alleged crimes occurred. She is an adult at this point and came forward to authorities.”

LA station KTTV Fox News 11 reported that the victim was one of Sparks’s dance students at the Millennium Dance Complex in the city.

Sparks’ rep was not open for comment. The victim’s identify is being withheld as she was a minor at the time. Sparks shot to fame as a choreographer on the 2004 movie You Got Served prior to joining SYTYCD
